MSW/JD Dual Degree Program Curriculum & Shared Credits The 30-credit foundation social work curriculum is the same for all students. As part of the advanced curriculum, the School of Social Work accepts six hours of credits from the Law School. Three of these must be selected from an approved list of law courses that meet the advanced policy requirement. This list is revised periodically as the Law School catalog changes, and addition of courses requires approval by the School of Social Work's Policy Area Committee and Master's Program Committee. Three elective credits are also accepted from the Law School (any course). The School of Law accepts nine transfer credits from the School of Social Work. These credits should be chosen in consultation with the Academic Advisor at the School of Law. In the advanced social work curriculum, dual degree students choose on e of the available concentrations. Because of specific specialization requirements, dual degree students may not meet all of the course requirements for an MSW specialization. Instead, most dual degree students are individualized specializers. Individualized specializations are developed with an advisor and approved by the Associate Dean for the MSW program.
