FALL 2018 REGISTRATION
Web registration begins on April 24, 2018 at 6 a.m. for new students who have confirmed their acceptance by paying the $300 deposit. It is strongly recommended that students register for classes as early as possible because classes fill quickly. Online registration ends on August 24th and classes begin August 27th.
ADVANCED STANDING STUDENTS - MANDATORY ADVISING:
Incoming advanced standing students must attend a mandatory advising session in April 2018. Please sign up via this form.
- Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm [SSW Auditorium]
- Friday, April 20, 2018 from 9:30 to 11:30 am [SSW Auditorium]
- Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 9:30 to 11:30 am [SSW Auditorium]
Full-Time Advanced Standing students must submit a field placement application online within three weeks of the date of acceptance and also complete the Selection of Concentration & Specialization Form.
Mandatory advising does not replace new student orientation in August.
Full-time foundation students should register for the following:
SOWK 630: Practice with Individuals
SOWK 631: Practice with Communities and Organizations
SOWK 635: Foundation Field Practicum*
(NOTE: You MUST register for the above (3) courses simultaneously in SURFS)
SOWK 645: Human Behavior and the Social Environment (all students must register)
SOWK 600: Social Welfare and Social Policy
SOWK 670: Social Work Research
Part-time students should register for 2 courses:
SOWK 645 — Human Behavior and the Social Environment (all students must register)
SOWK 600 — Social Welfare & Social Policy
SOWK 670 — Social Work Research

*Full-time Foundation students must submit a field placement application online within three weeks of the date of tuition deposit if beginning field in fall 2018. When registering for classes, keep in mind the following:
If your last name starts with A-L, you will be in field Monday/Wednesday
If your last name starts with M-Z, you will be in field Tuesday/Thursday
Title IV-E students will be in field Tuesday/Thursday
Students who have received a letter from the Office of Records and Registration granting transfer credits from another graduate school should refer to that letter when selecting courses. Please email@example.com with questions.
Universities at Shady Grove
Only students admitted to the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) campus are eligible to register for courses at that location. Please check the course schedule for the course offerings at Shady Grove.
