School's Title IV-E Program Earns National Grant
The National Child Welfare Workforce Institute has approved a proposal by the School’s Title IV-E program for public child welfare education to establish a Child Welfare Traineeship Program through the National Child Welfare Workforce Institute.
This five-year project in collaboration with the National Child Welfare Workforce Institute (NCWWI) will provide stipends to students and promote child welfare competencies, as well as advance Social Work
education with regard to child welfare leadership, workforce development, and practice. The grant provides over $540,000 in funding over the next five years.
The School's Diane DePanfilis will serve as the principal investigator while Debra Linsenmeyer will be project director. Others involved include Frederick Strieder, Director of the Family Connections Program, and Charlette Ringgold, LCSW-C, Title IV-E faculty field instructor. Dean Richard Barth will be involved with Deans of other schools of social work selected for the NCWWI grants in sharing information and findings.
