University of Maryland School of Social Work Alumni Association Scholarship Application for MSW Students

There are three scholarships of $2,000 each, to be awarded from the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.  These scholarships are for continuing students (going into a second year or the advanced curriculum in the fall 2008 semester) who have completed at least 12 credits at the School.  The awards will be announced to the recipients in early June.

The entire application, including your personal statement need to be completed and submitted online.  Therefore, it is recommended that you type your personal statement in advance, save it on your computer, then attach the file when completing the form below.  Personal statements must address the following: your volunteer and work experience, your reasons for pursuing the social work profession, and your career plans.  Personal statements must be completed in a word processing program, double-spaced using 1-inch margins and 12-point type.  Statements must not exceed four pages in length.

Please save your "personal statement" as such before uploading:  First Name_Last Name_Statement.  Please do not include any numbers or special characters such as ()*&, etc.
