UMB SSW Convocation Information For 2009 May (Spring) and July (Summer) Graduates There are exciting changes planned for the 2009 University of Maryland School of Social Work's Convocation! When: Friday, May 15, 2009 Where: Hilton Baltimore 401 W. Pratt Street (Next to Baltimore Convention Center) [New Location!] [Google Maps/Parking Locations] [Parking Info Link] Time: Begins Promptly at 8:30 AM [Please note start time. Graduates must arrive no later than 8 AM] There will be a limit on the number of tickets available for each graduate. The ceremony will be over by 10:30 a.m. Please note that the School of Medicine's graduation ceremony immediately follows the School of Social Works in the same room. The University of Maryland, Baltimore's Commencement ceremony begins at the 1st Mariner Arena at 3 p.m. the same day. Tickets for this year's Convocation Ceremony at the Baltimore Hilton, 401 W. Pratt Street, Baltimore, MD, will be distributed in Room 1E08 (Mail/Copy Center) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the dates below, with Saturday being the exception. On Saturdays, tickets will be distributed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In order to get tickets, each student will need to present a picture ID (UMB or other) and sign beside their name on the appropriate graduate list -- December 2008, May 2009, or July 2009. You will then receive four (4) tickets for your four (4) guests to the Convocation Ceremony, an information sheet, a pack of 15 general UMB announcements of the graduation on May 15, and a sheet regarding the class gift. All guests must have a ticket in his or her possession to be admitted to the Convocation Ceremony. Graduates do not need a ticket for themselves. Students needing additional tickets should send their requests via e-mail to studentservices@ssw.umaryland.edu no later than Monday, May 4. If you are notified that extra tickets are available, they will need to be picked up between Noon and 2 p.m. on Friday, May 8 from the Office of Student Affairs, Room 2W14. Regular Distribution Days
