About the UMB Foundation Scholarship Matching Program

The University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation has allocated funds to increase endowed student scholarships at all of its graduate and professional schools.  Student debt is at an all-time high, with the average debt of a graduating UM School of Social Work student at $57,734.

To continue to attract outstanding students, the UMB Foundation Scholarship Matching Program has allocated money to each school at UMB to match new or increased gifts to endowed student scholarships at $.50/$1.00.  To qualify for the match, commitments must be made before December, 2015, and paid within five years.

Donors interested in providing endowed scholarship support for the Financial Social Work Initiative may qualify for the UMB Foundation match by either making additional contributions to the Woodside Foundation Scholarship Endowment in Financial Social Work, or by establishing their own named endowed scholarship.

Please contact the UM SSW Office of Development at 410-706-0006 if you would like to learn more about establishing an endowed scholarship fund.
