Public Allies recruits talented and diverse young adults who have a passion to make a difference and helps them turn that passion into a career working for community and social change. This workshop will describe the Public Allies leadership model as well as outline five leadership values essential today: diversity and inclusion; teamwork and collaboration; recognizing and mobilizing assets; continuous learning; and integrity. The author will be available for book signing immediately following the presentation. Goals and Objectives of the Event: Learn a new approach to leadership including defining leadership as an action everyone can take, not a position to be held; how to be more effective at bringing diverse people and communities together to solve problems; and taking personal and social responsibility to work with others on common goals. Methodology: Guest speaker will present the Public Allies leadership model and participants will have the opportunity to respond to the model in small group discussion facilitated by Public Allies Maryland staff.
