Public Allies recruits talented and diverse young adults who have a passion to make a difference and helps them turn that passion into a career working for community and social change. This workshop will describe the Public Allies leadership model as well as outline five leadership values essential today: diversity and inclusion; teamwork and collaboration; recognizing and mobilizing assets; continuous learning; and integrity. The author will be available for book signing immediately following the presentation.
Goals and Objectives of the Event:
Learn a new approach to leadership including defining leadership as an action everyone can take, not a position to be held; how to be more effective at bringing diverse people and communities together to solve problems; and taking personal and social responsibility to work with others on common goals.
Guest speaker will present the Public Allies leadership model and participants will have the opportunity to respond to the model in small group discussion facilitated by Public Allies Maryland staff.
