Shauna Acquavita, background: tobacco cessation counseling, psychiatric social work, mental health and substance abuse care manager; research interests: tobacco, mental health, drug and alcohol.

Barry Adams, background:  child protective services, inpatient adolescent psychiatric treatment, Navy domestic violence/child abuse; research interests:  high pressure, high-profile emergency performance (combat, mass casualty, and team sports), international social work (Asia), military social work.

Dara Bergel, background: medical social work; research interests: gerontology and health care.

Rena Bina, background: clinical, rehabilitational, and administrative work with the emotionally disturbed in the ultraorthodox Jewish community, director of mental health department in a nonprofit organization in Israel; research interests: religion and mental health, rehabilitation and the emotionally disturbed.

Karen Castellanos, background: research assistant, assistant counselor, therapist intern; research interests: children and families, women’s issues.

Jennifer Clements, background: child welfare, foster care, residential youth programs; research interests: group work, child welfare, independent living, gay and lesbian youth in child welfare.

Renee Collins, background: department of social services, individual, couples, family, and group counseling; research interests: parents and families of adult male prisoners, men, grief and fathers’ experiences in caring for an autistic child.

David Dia, background: clinical social worker in private practice specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders; research interests: cognitive-behavioral therapy and anxiety disorders, particularly obsessive compulsive disorder.

Otima Doyle, background: clinical work with emotionally and behaviorally disturbed adolescents, therapist, supervisor and program manager, program development, restructuring the clinical program and training the paraprofessional staff; research interests: children and adolescents; organizational theory, culture; vulnerable populations; culture and ethnicity.

Elizabeth A. Fisher, background: program development and management; research interests: human service management in practice and social work education, advancement of the profession, nonprofit collaborations, active learning in social work education, organizational capacity building, and leadership in social work.

Emmett Gill, research interests: social welfare and sports, including student-athlete academic achievement, the involvement of professional athletes in social policy and the impact of the commercialization of college sports on student-athletes.

Elizabeth Greeno, background: clinical work with families, children, adolescents, trauma and foster care/child welfare, clinical supervisor, training, program development, and case management; research interests: Child welfare and foster care; incarcerated mothers; outcomes of lack of prenatal care; effectiveness of clinical techniques; burn out in social workers.

Anna Hayward, background: program development and administration, research with women who are dually diagnosed, in home services with therapeutic foster children, foster parent training; research interests: preventive services for families; role of fathers and extended family in child welfare/family services.

Elizabeth Hisle-Gorman, research interests: community prevention programs, community strengthening and positive family outcomes, and risk and resilience.

Jayshree Jani, background: adolescent and family counseling in various settings,  social policy advocacy; research interests: PTSD and depression especially in immigrant and refugee women, access to care issues in refugee populations & girl's self esteem.

Alexa Smith-Osborne, background: maternal and child health program development and consulting, school social work, preschool handicapped program consulting and clinical work, community mental health center (C&A) clinical and consulting, staff development and training, EAP clinical and training, clinical private practice, adjunct faculty, human services concentration; research interests:  employee assistance programs, including the military family service center models, and their roles in child/spouse abuse prevention , family preservation, and complex case management; relapse prevention and prevention of homelessness and foster care placement of chronically mentally ill children/adolescents/transition-age youth; group treatment modalities for children with externalizing behavior disorders ; early identification and multi-modal treatment, including complex medication management for young children with anxiety and mood disorders; maternal and child health, especially postpartum depression or infertility/miscarriage  or maternal response to neonatal compromise and infant development; child welfare training programs and trainee retention for work obligation; religion and spirituality in social work practice.
