The large majority of children involved in child welfare services actually still live with their family of origin. Which makes it all the more surprising that no fully comprehensive evaluation has been done of the types of parent-training programs that are offered to these families. Until now.  Professor Richard Barth, Dean of the School of Social Work at the University of Maryland, led a large study of parent training in the United States. He also heads up the world's biggest longitudinal study of children in care.
