Mandatory New Student Orientation
School of Social Work
Date: Monday, January 12th
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Check-in begins at 8:30)

Student’s must park at the Lexington Garage located at 660 W. Lexington Street (at the corner of Pine and Lexington Streets)

UMB One Card (University ID)
--  You must have completed registration PRIOR to applying for your One Card.
--  You MUST submit a photo by email prior to the day of orientation.
--  The One Card office will notify you when your card is ready to be picked up.

Orientation Schedule
9am-11am: Welcome by Deans
Brief informational presentations on campus resources

11am-noon: Small group break-out sessions with current students
Lunch provided by the Student Government Association

Noon-1: Mandatory Academic-Oriented Lectures for students:
Writing Skills Instruction/APA Lecture
Instructional Technology Services/ Blackboard Lecture

1pm: Mandatory sessions end

1-2pm: Optional campus tour

Attention: All students must create a GoogleApps@Umaryland email account (also known as your GAE account) Look for an email from UMB with instructions for creating this account.. The e-mail message will inform new students how to establish their GAE account on-line (via the UMB Account Management Site, which manages your UMID and password). The UMID and password is the Baltimore campus-wide authentication system that allows students to access their email account, Blackboard, SURFS, eduroam wireless networks, databases, electronic services, HS/HSL resources, etc.
