MISSION
The mission of the University of Maryland School of Social Work is to provide leadership to the profession by conducting educational programs, research, scholarship, service innovation, consultation and advocacy. The School promotes social and economic justice and emphasizes advancement of the well-being of populations at risk. The primary way it meets its mission is through a continuum of programs of social work education baccalaureate, masters, doctoral and continuing education-that produces competent and ethnical social workers whose practice advances the well-being of all the people served. VISION The School of Social Work is a vibrant academic community that prepares students for leadership and exceptional service, develops creative solutions to pressing social issues, and influences policies and practice at the local, state, national, and international level.
