Adjunct Faculty Appreciation Day

Adjunct faculty are very important to fulfilling our educational mission at the school.  Between our BSW program at UMBC, our MSW program and PhD program along with our training institute, we train and educate over 5,000 practitioners each year.  Adjunct faculty currently teach about 40% of the courses in the MSW program.  In an attempt to both orient new adjunct faculty to the school and recognize those who have dedicated their time and talents to our school for years, on June 1st we held our first ever Adjunct Appreciation Day.

The event included two exciting and engaging faculty development workshops:

Mcclain Creating Inclusive Classrooms by Russell McClain, Law School Associate Professor, Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion, and Director, Academic Achievement Program. UM School of Law
Best Practices in Teaching by Linda Hodges, Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs & Director of the Faculty Development Center, UMBC
