Summer Registration Information:

For summer session, there is no minimum credit requirement.  Summer tuition is per credit hour only.  Students taking summer courses are encouraged to review their plan of study to ensure these credit hours may be incorporated.  To request a course overload (over 7 credits), students must complete the summer overload form and email it to sswregistration@ssw.umaryland.edu.  Registration for over (6) credits is on a space available basis.  Please note that one-week intensive courses have at least one scheduled session during the 8-week summer session timeframe, and there may be no overlap with 8-week class times.  Courses may be cancelled due to low enrollment.

ONE-WEEK Intensive Courses begin Monday May 22, 2017.

This course includes several online modules that are to be completed prior to May 22, as well as several online modules to be completed after the intensive sessions. 62361 SWCL 756 INT MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING IN SOCIAL WORK PRACTICE Wirt Intensive class meets Monday - Friday, May 22 - 26, from 9:00-5:00 PM; course will require assigned readings and homework assignments that will be due before the class begins. The final exam includes completing a Standardized Client Interview which will take place on campus, at the School of Nursing Standardized Patient Lab on Friday, June 2, 2017. Students will also be required to schedule a meeting with the instructor at a mutually agreed-upon time within two weeks following the final exam interview. 62147 SWCL 776 INT Core Concepts in Trauma Treatment for Children and Adolescents* Collins Intensive class meets Monday-Friday, May 22- May 26 from 9:30 am – 5:00 pm; one more session will be conducted on-line, to be completed along with a final paper by June 30th. This course will introduce students to the core concepts (general theory and foundational knowledge), which inform evidence-based assessment and intervention with children, adolescents, and families who are traumatized. The course will highlight the role of development, culture, and empirical evidence in trauma-specific interventions with children, adolescents, and their families. Pre-requisites: SWCL 700 and SWCL 744 3E36
