April is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Maryland. She holds two degrees from New York University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work and a Master of Social Work degree in Clinical Social Work. She has an extensive background in counseling, group therapy, intensive outpatient programs, addiction recovery services, and program development in healthcare. She is also actively works with graduate students in the Office of Field Education at The University of Maryland School of Social Work.
April volunteers as a parent advocate, helping them understand and navigate their rights within the school system. She has also volunteered at various non-profit agencies helping develop programs, implement strategies and obtain financial support. April has a long term goal of opening a community center that will provide wrap around services for school aged children and their families.
