1. When is the new Bloom Catalog available?

The Bloom catalogs are distributed twice a year.  The spring catalog is released in January. Spring workshops are from February – July. The fall catalog is release in August.  Fall workshops are from September until December.  There are no workshops in January or August.

How do I receive a Bloom catalog? 

We use the address that is on file with the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners (BSWE). If you have moved, please email us your new address and change it with the Board of Social Work Examiners.

How do I know where the workshop is located?

All of our workshops are accompanied by a number (excluding some specials). That number consists the location: SG for Shady Grove, HC for Howard County and DC for the District of Columbia. If there are no letters behind the number that means that the workshop is held at the Baltimore campus.

 

4. Is parking available?

Baltimore: We offer $5 parking vouchers only for the Saratoga Garage located at 220 Arch Street.

Howard County: Free parking in front of the building

Shady Grove: $10 parking for the Traville Gateway Garage Level 2-6

National Rehabilitation Hospital (DC): $10 Hospital Parking Garage

 

5. Are there any discounts?

We offer discounts:  25% off for Seniors 65+; 50% off for Current Students and 35% off for Faculty, Staff and Field Instructors with valid I.D. Please call 410.706.5040 to redeem the discounts.  *No discount for ethics, online, half-day, multi day, specials nor certificate Programs.

 

6. How do I register?

We accept online registration with a credit card. Click on the picture that represents the subject matter.  We accept payments by check or over the phone for an additional fee of $5.

 The option to pay by check is only offered for payments received at least two weeks before the workshop date. If a payment is received after the two week deadline, participants must pay by money order or credit card.

8. Who are you authorized by?

We are authorized by Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners and DC’s Board of Social Work. Maryland’s LG /LCPC licensing Board accepts our Certificates. Many other jurisdictions accept CEUs from accredited Schools of Social Work, however it is best to check with your licensing Board.

 

9. Can I register late or a walk-in?

Registration Deadline: Two weeks prior to the workshop(s) in which you wish to enroll. After the deadline, a non-refundable $20 late fee will be added to the cost of each workshop. Early registration is encouraged.

 

If you register late there will be an attachment on your confirmation email that has a link to the workshop material. If you do not see the attachment call or email us.  If you’re a walk in, you will receive the materials with your CEU certificate by mail no later than two weeks after the workshop.

 

10.What if my job is paying?

There is a Registration Form that should be completed and mailed with a check. If your employer needs additional information, please call 410.706.5040.

 

11. How do I get the materials for the workshop?

Workshop materials are emailed at least one week before your workshop.  Sometimes emails are blocked or sent to a spam/junk folder. If you do not receive it, please call/email us. We have no way of knowing if you received the materials and will not have copies available.

 

12. I don’t have a printer- what do I do?

You can purchase copies of workshop materials for $5. If you are registered for a workshop at one of satellite locations (Howard County, Shady Grove, DC, etc.) please request the workshop materials at least two weeks before your workshop by calling us at 410.706.1839.

 

13. What happens I’m running late?

Take a deep breath and get to the destination safely.  You do not need to call us. You are officially late once the Instructor is introduced and/or begins.  As soon as you arrive, sign in with a staff member- do not wait. Your CEU certificate will be adjusted in half an hour increments.

 

14. What happens if I need to leave early?

If you need to leave early, please tell CPE staff. Please do not tell the workshop Instructor. CEUs will be adjusted for participants who neglect to retrieve their CEU certificate at the end of the workshop and neglected to inform the facilitator of their departure. If you arrive late, your adjusted CEU will be emailed to you. Your CEU certificate will be adjusted in half an hour increments.

 

15. How do I receive my CEU certificate?

All CEU certificates are given at the end of the workshop for those who names appear on the sign in sheet- unless you arrive late. If you registered late or are a walk-in, your name may not appear on the sign in sheet. However, there is a sign in sheet for you.  For late registrants and walk-ins, your CEU certificate will be emailed to you no later than a week after the workshop.  If you arrive late, your adjusted CEU will be emailed to you.

CEUs will be adjusted for participants who neglects to retrieve their CEU certificate at the end of the workshop. If you need to leave early, please tell CPE Staff, not the workshop Instructor.

 

16. What if I can’t find my certificate and need a duplicate?

There is a $25  fee when duplicate certificates are requested. If you would like one, please call 410.706.5040.

 

17. What if I registered but can’t attend?

You can cancel up until 24 hours before the workshop begins by calling or emailing. Refunds or credit letters will not be granted for cancellations with less than 24 hours before the training.

All cancellations will receive a $35.00 administrative fee deducted from the refunded amount. If you do not wish to pay the administrative fee, you can receive a credit letter for 100% of the tuition. The credit letter is valid until the end of the following semester. However, should a credit go unused by the end of the following semester, the credit is forfeited by the registrant.

The processing of check refunds may take up to six weeks and registrant’s social security number is required.

 

18. What if the workshop is canceled? 

The Office of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) may cancel workshops that are undersubscribed and participants will be notified by email.  One indication that a workshop is canceled is not receiving a reminder email with the materials. If you do not receive an email from us a week before your workshop, please call us.

Participants of a workshops cancelled by CPE can request either a course credit to be used by the end of the following semester or request a full refund at the time of the course cancellation. However, should a credit go unused by the end of the following semester, the credit is forfeited by the registrant. Once a credit letter is issued a refund will not be granted.

 

19. How do I redeem a credit letter?

All credit letters are sent by email. Please save the email and respond to it when you are ready to redeem it. Please add the number and title of the workshop that you would like to attend when you reply.

 

20. What if I have a problem during the workshop?

If an emergency arises, please inform the CPE staff. Please do not tell the Instructor. Instructors reserve the right to dismiss participants who are not adhering to the Code of Conduct.
