The University of Maryland Center for Public Health Social Work Education and Training
is one of three national social work leadership programs historically supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration. Since its inception, the Center has developed an innovative and nationally recognized curriculum for both maternal and child health social work and public health social work education and leadership development. While the grant has its historical roots in maternal and child health, the current focus is on public health social work both in clinical and macro settings. The Center for Public Health Social Work Education and Training has developed an intensive training program to shape the future leaders in public health social work. The purpose of the Leadership program at the Center for Public Health Social Work Education and Training is to provide social workers in public health the opportunity to enhance their leadership and management skills so that they can assume leadership roles in their agencies and the public health field.
