Amani Coker-Warren is the Community Schools Coordinator at Eutaw-Marshburn Elementary. Previously she was the Senior Program Coordinator at The Young Women’s Project were she developed, supported, trained, and managed a team of 20 teen youth in foster care in the areas of advocacy and education. In addition, she advocated for the rights of youth in foster care in the District of Columbia. Prior to that she was a school counselor a DC Prep Benning Elementary Campus, where she was the liaison for the Parent Action Team the co-facilitator of the Student Support Team and a consultant for teachers in the arear of social emotional health. From 2009-2011 Amani attended the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration with a concentration in Community Schools and School Social Work. While there she was a research assistant for the 30 Million Words Project where she created and presented early childhood literacy interventions to families. Amani began her career in education as a First Grade teacher at Global Leadership Academy Charter School in Philadelphia, PA as Teach For America Corps member
