The PhD Program in Social Work is located at the University of Maryland School of Social Work. The program is ideally situated for social work research. It is part of the University of Maryland system, one of the country's largest and most comprehensive research universities. The School building is one of the nation's most modern and best equipped. Facilities for PhD students include bright seminar rooms for classes, a comfortable student lounge, and offices for graduate assistants.  

The School also has a state-of-the-art computer lab with the hardware and software necessary for scholarship and research. In addition, the School has a modern audiovisual studio and a practice laboratory facility.  PhD students have access to the University-wide computer system and to the libraries of four University of Maryland institutions.
