The Positive Schools Center
The Positive Schools Center is funded by a multi-year grant from the Open Society Institute (OSI) Baltimore. The Center is the lead organization in collaboration with several partners, including Family Connections of the University of Maryland Baltimore School of Social Work, C-DRUM (Center for Dispute Resolution at UM Carey School of Law), Towson University School of Education, and Morgan State University School of Education and Urban Studies.
The PSC strives to promote the development of positive, supportive, and mindful learning communities where students and school staff connect, develop, and grow. The Center partners with school districts to identify and collaborate around issues related to school climate and punitive discipline, especially when those issues result in high rates of suspensions and expulsions.
