- Helping Courts Address Implicit Bias.To raise awareness about the existence of implicit bias in the court community, the NCSC, with funding from the Open Society Institute, documented the development and implementation of pilot educational programs on the topic of implicit racial bias in three participating states.Program materials and lessons learned from this project may help to inform future educational and training efforts in improving fairness and cultural competence in the court community.

- American Civil Liberties Union Foundation of Maryland. The ACLU of Maryland’s Education Reform Project works to ensure that all children in Maryland public schools - particularly those most at risk of failure - are accorded a "thorough and efficient" education as guaranteed by the state Constitution. Our aims include securing adequate and equitable public school funding, and the wise use of that funding to support student achievement, ensuring that school buildings are safe and properly equipped, and providing a positive school climate, including fair and effective discipline policies. The ACLU’s education reform work is rooted in the Bradford v. Maryland State Board of Education lawsuit, brought on behalf of Baltimore parents and students in 1994.

A group of educators have demonstrated success not only with White middle-class and affluent students but also with students from varied racial, socioeconomic, linguistic, ability, and cultural backgrounds. - Safe and Sound: Baltimore’s Campaign for Children and Youth. Character.org aims to benefit society through school reform that addresses not only academics, but also social, emotional, and ethical issues. Character.org has the tools, methods, and strategies to empower principals, teachers, counselors, parents and community members to help schools achieve the important goals of character development.
- The Whole Child. ASCD's Whole Child Initiative is an effort to change the conversation about education from a focus on narrowly defined academic achievement to one that promotes the long term development and success of children. Through the initiative, ASCD helps educators, families, community members, and policymakers move from a vision about educating the whole child to sustainable, collaborative action. ASCD is joined in this effort by Whole Child Partner organizations representing the education, arts, health, policy, and community sectors.
