There are many variables that impact how we view ourselves: family history, cultural and societal norms, intergenerational trauma, systemic oppression and marginalization, social media, sexuality, neurodivergence, and the list goes on. Understanding how complex it can be to navigate these challenges, I am committed to meeting emerging adults in the foster care system where they are, while respecting their right to agency. Together we are fostering a safe, collaborative space for growth. Building resilience and trust, highlighting their strengths and partnering with them to secure their ‘safety, permanency and well-being’ has been my mission and focus for the last eleven years.
