Tanya Bryant-Nickens

Tanya Bryant-NickensI have a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland College Park, a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work, and am licensed at the advanced level in both Maryland and Virginia. I am a Certified Employee Assistance Professional since 2020, and I currently work full-time at a federal agency where I provide short-term counseling, management consultations, and threat assessment for the agency; while I also serve as an acquisition professional and manage the national EAP contract. I have a private practice that I've scaled back since accepting federal employment, where I provided support for struggling employees who are management-referred and who hold jobs that expose them to trauma, while providing therapy to a very few executives and professional clients. I have volunteered as a therapist for Pro Bono Counseling in Maryland, facilitated a support group for African American therapists volunteering at Pro Bono Counseling, served on the board of my local swim club, and served on several auxilliaries in my church, and often serve as a clinical supervisor or mentor for those seeking advanced licensure in social work. I hope that my advanced study in clincial social work allows me to offer even more advanced clinical support to executives and highly-motivated professionals dealing with anxiety and depressive disorders. I am married, and my husband and I were finalists in the 2018 Wedding in a Week contest on Fox 45 News, and I am an avid Ravens' fan.
