I received my MSW in 2011 from UMB School of Social work. I worked for 10 years in community mental health as a clinician and supervisor. I became interested in trauma and neurobiology and focused on learning about trauma interventions and strategies. During this time I also worked with the International Rescue Committee and the Intercultural Counseling Connection providing services to new arrived refugees. I also completed EMDR training, which deepened my interest in neurobiology. Currently I am still focused on neurobiology with a special interest in treatment strategies for neurodivergent cognitive styles in couples and relational counseling. I aspire to delve into further research and develop intervention strategies on this topic. My other interest is developing ways to teach the art and science of psychotherapy utilizing theories, observations and techniques derived from art and performance.
