Samantha Fuld

Dr. Samantha Fuld, DSW, MSW, is Clinical Associate Professor and Associate Director of the Doctor of Social Work (DSW) Program at the University of Maryland School of Social Work (UMSSW). Dr. Fuld earned her DSW in Clinical Social Work from New York University’s Silver School of Social Work and brings extensive experience as a clinician, supervisor, educator, and academic leader. Her work focuses on advancing accessibility, disability justice, and neurodiversity-affirming practice within social work education and clinical care. As an educator, she champions Universal Design and inclusive teaching practices that ensure diverse needs, perspectives, and strengths are valued and supported. She has received numerous awards recognizing excellence in teaching and leadership, including the Outstanding MSW Educator of the Year Award (2026), the Camara Jones Faculty Award (2024), the Exemplary Faculty Award (2022), and more than ten Dean's Teaching Awards. Dr. Fuld co-developed the Accessibility and Universal Design Framework for Social Work Education and Practice, a model that informs both pedagogy and clinical care. Her work includes interprofessional collaborations aimed at advancing accessibility and neurodiversity-affirming healthcare education. Her scholarship focuses on trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming clinical care, and her publications have achieved broad readership and significant citation impact, including work published in the Journal of Social Work Education and the Clinical Social Work Journal.
