Merrick McKelvie

Merrick McKelvieMerrick R. McKelvie (they/he) is a licensed clinical social worker, scholar, and educator whose research and practice is rooted in radically altering systems of power. He has extensive experience providing gender affirming and neurodivergent affirming psychotherapy to adolescents and adults and is interested in co-creating alternative paths to wellness that center the embodied wisdom of clients, students, colleagues, and comrades. Merrick's current research is focused on exploring the ways in which systemic oppression, stigma, and surveillance impact psychological well-being and identity formation for gender and sexual minorities. They are also interested in pedagogy, how place/space impact our relationships with ourselves, and social worker identity formation.
