The 36-Credit Advanced Standing Program, for students who already have a BSW, includes an advanced policy course, four 3-credit methods courses within a selected concentration, and (3) electives. 

Advanced Standing Curriculum

Students in the 36 credit Advanced Standing program will complete 36 credits based on their selected concentration.  Students can choose from Clinical Concentration, Leadership, Policy and Social Change Concentration or Dual Concentrations. The Leadership, Policy and Social Change Concentration available at the Baltimore Campus and Shady Grove while the Clinical Concentration is available at all 3 UMSSW Campus Locations.

Advanced Practicum

The Advanced Practicum setting is determined by the student’s selected concentration. Advanced Practicum is two consecutive semesters scheduled typically on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays unless specified otherwise by the Practicum agency. Students also have the option of a two-day a week Advanced Extended placement, which extends the internship into July. Students who choose an extended practicum are July graduates.
