MSW Teaching Opportunities
Become an Adjunct Instructor
Master of Social Work (MSW)
Prepares students for clinical or macro-level practice through coursework and a supervised practicum. Course formats include in-person, hybrid, and online (synchronous and asynchronous). Class sizes range from 18 to 26 students. Blackboard is the learning management system.
MSW Course Schedule
- Mondays: 9:00–12:00, 2:00–5:00, 6:00–9:00
- Tuesdays: 6:00–9:00 (online synchronous only)
- Wednesdays: 2:00–5:00, 6:00–9:00
- Thursdays: 6:00–9:00 (online synchronous only)
- Fridays: 9:00–12:00
- Saturdays: 9:00–12:00, 1:00–4:00

MSW Teaching Timeline
- A pool of adjuncts is maintained to staff MSW courses
- Submitting an application is the only action you need to take to be considered for a teaching opportunity
- If there is an opportunity based on the campus, format, and days/times an applicant provides, the Office of Academic Affairs will reach out to schedule a screening interview
- Teaching opportunities are typically offered 2–3 months before the semester
- Courses are confirmed 1 month prior to the start of the semester
- Semester start dates:
- Fall: Late August
- Spring: January
- Summer: Late May/Early June

Practicum Liaisons & Seminar Instructors
Support MSW students through practicum oversight and reflective learning.
- Practicum liaisons serve as the connection between students, agencies, and the School, monitoring progress and supporting field learning.
- Seminar instructors lead monthly small-group sessions focused on identity, anti-oppression, and professional integration using inquiry-based learning.

Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Opportunities
Continuing Professional Education Instructors
Lead workshops and trainings for licensed professionals through one of the nation’s largest social work continuing education programs. CPE seeks instructors with expertise in clinical practice, ethics, supervision, leadership, and emerging topics such as trauma-informed care and anti-oppression.

DSW Teaching Opportunities
Become a DSW Adjunct Instructor
Doctor of Social Work (DSW)
A three-year, cohort-based advanced practice doctorate for experienced social workers. Focuses on clinical expertise, leadership, supervision, teaching, and applied research. Courses are delivered through monthly in-person weekend sessions on the Baltimore campus.
