Students Accepted for the Fall 2026 60-Credit Online MSW Program
Congratulations on your acceptance to the Online MSW program!
Program Structure & Planning Information
Time Commitment & Course Schedule
Students take two courses per semester (Fall, Spring, and one Summer) throughout the three‑year program. Please review the OMSW plan of study found on this Sample Plan of Study webpage.
- Synchronous courses meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6–9PM.
- In Year 1, students take two courses per semester, one asynchronous and one synchronous.
- In Years 2 and 3 (Fall and Spring), students continue to take two synchronous evening courses per semester while also completing a required in‑person practicum during the day.
Practicum (In‑Person, Daytime)
Students complete two required, in‑person practicums:
- Year 2: Foundation Practicum, typically two weekdays per week (16 hours)
- Year 3: Advanced Practicum, three weekdays per week from September–April or two weekdays per week with the practicum extending through July
Students must be able to balance evening coursework and daytime practicum hours during Years 2 and 3. Some students work while enrolled; however, weekday availability is essential during the practicum years. Employment‑based placements may be possible for students already working in social work settings, pending approval.
If you have questions about how these requirements align with your work, caregiving, location, or other responsibilities, feel free to reach out to Nakiya Schurman, Director of the Online MSW Program
