Students must be entering their Foundation field placement in Fall 2020 and must accept the Fellowship for both the Foundation year and Advanced year field placements. Students must sign a Commitment Letter stating intent to pursue and accept employment in the Substance Use Disorder field for two years following graduation

Academic requirements:

Foundation Year

Advanced Year

Accept generalist field placement

Clinical concentration with Behavioral Health or Health specialization

Complete 1 credit courses in Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral and Treatment (SBIRT) and Neurobiology of Opioid Use Disorders

Advanced field placement at SUDIF-approved field site.

Attend six training sessions specifically for Fellows during the academic year

Attend six seminars specifically for Fellows during the academic year


Complete 3 credit course SWCL 705—Clinical Social Work with Addictive Behavior Patterns


Complete Motivational interviewing training
